Since AFLAC recently fired Gilbert Gottfried as the voice of their duck because of his disparaging remarks about Japan, the company is holding auditions to find a new voice…could it be you?  Apply at http://www.quackaflac.com/applyonline.

Maroon 5’s song that was completed with fan help has been finished! The final song will be available as a free download on Coca Cola’s website starting Friday (Coca Cola was the sponsor for this experiment). Here’s the link for that.

I’ll also be talking about one of Five For Fighting’s songs being used in a NASA video! John Ondrasik has got to be psyched about this…

Some movies are meant to be seen in theaters. After seeing the trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger, I think this is definitely one of those movies. A regular TV just wouldn’t do this justice. Check it out…

Captain America: The First Avenger will be in theaters July 22nd!

As I type this there are a bunch of cords winding around behind our pc desk area.  The average person won’t see them, but if you look hard, you’ll see a giant mess nicely tucked away.  Here’s an MSNBC article on cutting cord clutter.  I’ve tried a lot of it.  Never seems to work.

Today is the first official day of Spring…doesn’t look like it…but I started thinking about all the things I love about spring…here we go.

bulbs peeping out of the soil, the smell of the air, the planning of my garden, and I can open my windows at the house!

Weekend was great!  Did chores, got to hang with hubby and we gave away a trip to Napa Sunday Night to Live in They Vineyard!  Woo hoo!!

He’s a cool guy and does a ton of stuff for the show besides hosting it. So he’s the perfect person to talk to about certain aspects of the game and why some things make it to the show and others don’t.

To make my life easier (always a priority for me lol), I posted the link to the full interview and all the links that go along with it on my main Blogger page (just click on that link to get to it).

CBS is the best with making people available for radio interviews. But for some reason, they don’t set too many things up for the Amazing Race contestants. I can always put in a request though, so if you’re interested in hearing from any of them, let me know and I’ll work on getting them on Star as well. And I’m always up for having you help me out with the interview as well (including asking the questions). Just e-mail me at  janthony at entercom.com with any suggestions.

My fondest memories of Rick Martin…I first met him when he was just a rookie when I was at WGRQ on Franklin Street (he liked our music but wanted us to play more “Rock”).  In later years I had the pleasure of working with him in the 90’s at a station remote broadcast at a business in the 5700 block of Main Street in Williamsville, and speaking with him when he would be in the VIP room of The World’s Largest Disco (where I was DJing).  Always a wonderful guy and thoughts and prayers going out to all his family!

Red Riding Hood is now in theaters. I’m a huge fan of dark fairy tales, so this is one I think I want to see.

But I originally thought it was only going to be a dark retelling of the story. Then I heard it might be more like a “Twilight” version of the story focusing on a love interest between Red Riding Hood and a werewolf – that I wouldn’t be interested in.

Aside from this short 15-second trailer, I haven’t seen anything else about the movie as I’m trying to avoid having it completely spoiled. But I’d hate to bother with it if it’s too much of a love story. If you’ve seen it, let me know what you think. If it sounds scary enough, I’ll probably go see it sometime this week.

Here’s some other links to things I’m talking about on-air today…

Bad news from the Department Of Transportation if you hit a pothole and it damages your car this winter.

Maroon 5 / Pepsi FaceBook page where you can help the group write their new song. And here’s the website where it will happen.

Miley Cyrus going after a paparazzi this past week.

So I have a wall of clocks in my house.  Yes 13 on one wall.  No it wasn’t my idea.  It was my husbands.  I, however  got stuck changing them all today.  He went to the home show….Anyhow I went outside today and noticed that my Crocus are poking through,  Daffodils starting to show, and something living under my preformed pond….I am declaring war on whatever it is.  We will see who wins.  My mood is great because my seedlings I planted have sprouted and with the outside stuff, I know Spring is around the corner….
