Over Christmas weekend the Buffalo News ran what I think is one of the smartest pieces regarding Buffalo waterfront development. Click here to check out Bill McKibben’s “Another Voice” column in the Buffalo News. A must read that takes advantage of what we do have, instead of what we may have.
So I spent the holidays in Ohio with my family….awesome to see them.. Hecktic as hell to get there. I do all the cooking, so I dragged my own food, ingredients an pans with me….I know I know..But I need them to do it right. So I cooked my brians out and it seemed like everyone enjoyed it….packed the car to get there with all my food stuff, presents and me and hubbys clothes….then Christmas day we loaded the car back home, unpacked it and repacked it to go to his brothers!had dinner exchanged presents, loaded the car back up, went home and unpacked the car…Neighbors Frank and Tonya invited us over. I went to their house crawled on the coacha dn I was done. I have to admit that not much slows me down..this holiday kicked my butt. Now I’m sick with a sore throat and can’t wait to get my tree in the attic and my life back. Hope that doesn’t make me a grinch….I’m just ready for my normal boring life! just had some Hot chocolate (diet of course) and am going home to make some spicy Thai soup, take some medicine and get in bed. Amen…All my whining aside….I am truly blessed and have very little to be unhappy about…I guess thats why I can complain about the little things. My wish or the new year is a cure for Prkinson’s Disease for my brother, and good health to you and yours…Happy New Year my friends!

The Bills could what The Sabres couldn’t over the weekend in Florida…WIN! Last week The Sabres lost in Sunrise, FLA against The Panthers and in St. Pete against The Lightning, but the Bills made up for it beating the Dolphins for the first time (in a long time) on Sunday in Miami! David Nelson (above) catches one of Ryan Fitzpatrick’s 2 TD passes and truthfully…did you feel bad for Miami’s Kicker Dan Carpenter missing all 4 of his Field Goal attempts…I didn’t think so!

I have four different to do lists in my purse. I have a list of stuff to take to my moms when I travel for the holidays. I have a list of stuff to buy and for whom. I have a to do list for my houshold stuff. And a grocery list….I think I am a little OCD. For some reason I feel better if I have lists. My husband just shakes his head.

Seems like just yesterday I was writing about Fall, and here it is almost Christmas! That means it’s time for all those year-end lists everyone….ah…loves?
A lot of people have written about YouTube’s top videos of the year, but not many have compiled them all in one easy to watch place; until now. Behold, your most popular Viral Videos of 2010!
1. BED INTRUDER SONG! Auto-Tune the News makes songs out of what’s in the news, in this case, an Alabama man telling a reporter about a nocturnal assault on his sister. Why was this so popular (50 million + views)? Pretty catchy tune, and now available on iTunes.
2. TIK TOK KESHA Parody. Glitter Puke — Key of Awe$ome #13. The Key Of Awesome is a comedy group that has the audacity to suggest that Kesha maybe isn’t a bad girl in real life. (Do you think?) It’s well imagined, taking the singer from having her head in the toilet to enduring a family intervention, complete with “Dr. Drew.” Funny moment: when they read that her contract calls for her to “act like a drunken w**** at all times.” Funny stuff, and also at 50 million+ views and counting.
3. Greyson Chance Singing Paparazzi. Still can’t believe this kid is this good in 6th grade. Wow. Oklahoma middle schooler Greyson Chance posts a video of himself at the piano, covering Lady Gaga during a school talent show. 34 million views later, Chance has appeared on “Ellen” and has a single on iTunes, but the best part was watching his female classmates grow entranced by his performance.
4. Annoying Orange Wazzup. Annoying Orange, the human-faced fruit star of a hugely popular series of YouTube short videos, does a version of the old Budweiser “Wazzup” ads with his fruit buddies, bananas, lemon, kiwi and apple. I remember the original ad, my kids had no idea it existed before Annoying Orange. After watching both, they prefer Annoying Orange. 28 million + views.
5. Old Spice, The Man Your Man Could Smell Like. One of the most iconic commercials in decades, the “Old Spice Man” sparked a whole series of parodies and spin-offs. Compelling moment: “It’s an oyster with two tickets to that thing you love…the tickets are now diamonds!” 25 million views and counting.
And because I can’t stop at just 5 top viral videos, here’s #6:
6. Yosemitebear Mountain Giant Double Rainbow 1-8-10. This guy is a trip. He’s so overwhelmed by seeing a double rainbow that he weeps with joy. With every sob the camera jerks a little. Mother Nature’s Son was definitely in the right place at the right time! This video was so popular, he ended up making a commercial for, no joke, Microsoft. 21 million views.

QB Ryan FITZpatrick continues to throw TD Passes game after game (above to Rookie David Nelson) and the ‘D” comes up big after the Browns first series and all-in-all a good “gutsy” win (according to Coach Gailey) on Sunday against The Browns at the Ralph! The Team plays in South Florida on Sunday against The Dolphins…Go Bills!
When Producer Christina Crane brought in her special brownie cookie bars, we mentioned some very cool and different Christmas cookies from the folks at Coastal Living. Have fun cooking and munching!

It looked good early, knocking out Brett Favre and getting a quick “pick 6″ TD against the Vikings Back-up QB Tarvaris Jackson, but the game for the Bills went downhill from there on Sunday. The Bills just can’t turn the ball over 5 times and expect a win even a “miracle” comeback win. The Browns are here at the Ralph next on Sunday.
The other morning I was describing how taking Penny for a walk has been a little more challenging since mid-October. Not because of the weather, but because of the seasonal decorations. I could understand her growling and barking at skeletons, ghouls, and scary Halloween lawn decorations, but it hasn’t ended. She also stops to bark at super happy looking 1970’s plastic snowmen, elves, and Santa Claus displays! Here are a couple of pics to illustrate:
