Not that I’m getting excited about something super serious and depressing, but the GOOGLE EARTH page that tracks the Gulf oil spill is pretty interesting.  And also very scary, especially when entering in the various scenarios offered on the left hand side of the page.  To get started, you may need to click the ”Track the spill on Google Maps” link on the left hand side of the Destin, Florida map page that first comes up.

There has always been a big question about YouTube videos.  Can you just take someone elses work and put it on the web, if you are making money off of it through advertising?  Check out this Hollywood Reporter Article for a look at what a recent ruling means to Hollywood.

I actually felt the earthquake!  It was cool.  It was my first!

Is your basement as damp as mine?  I have a dehumidifier and two fans going…not wet just damp-yuck!

My garden is awesome so far.  I had fresh green beans for dinner from my garden last night!

A busy week next week, then its off to Ellicottville and a week off with the hubby!

Thursday at the square tonight!  See you at the wine tent!

I was at my desk working on some music stuff when I felt the floor shake – and continue to shake for about 10 seconds. I figured it was a minor tremor, so I left the office and sure enough, everyone was out in the hall wondering the same thing.

Here’s some of the links for the 5.5 earthquake which happened about 30 miles from Ottawa, Ontario…

The US Geological Survey website

Fox News report on the earthquake

A website devoted to Ottawa earthquakes (apparently Ottawa gets quite a few, but they’re usually too small to notice)

WBEN.com (constantly updated with new details)

Video of an Ottawa press conference that was interrupted by the earthquake and any additional updates will be on my main page here.

The game itself isn’t bad, but even before the hour was up I’d already grown bored with the concept.

The funniest part – the audience’s reactions. They were not happy to be there. I’m guessing this episode took forever to tape which would cause that reaction. Plus they were probably wondering what would happen if an earthquake hit while they were up there.

As for all the falling stuff, I think that was actually a distraction from the game. Which is too bad since that’s what the whole show is based on.

I do like that the contestants get to keep shouting out answers until they get the right one – that was different. The host and the first two contestants were good too.

And one other good thing about Downfall – they didn’t use the horrible ABC voiceover guy that was in the promos leading up to it. I don’t know where ABC found that guy, but he’s the worst. Maybe they realize that too, since this is the only show I’ve heard him do a promo for so far.

Overall, an okay show but it’s already getting old. ABC never should have cancelled I Survived A Japanese Game Show – in the long run, that was a far better companion to Wipeout than this.

On the heels of the BP oil disaster, The Daily Beast has come up with Histories Most Hated Companies.  See how many of these you remember, or were maybe not even alive for!

So Father’s day is this Sunday.  Tough time for me, as I lost my father to Lymphoma.  God I miss him.  But, I will celebrate through my husband and stepson.  I bought my husband a new outfit and some summertime tank tops.  Hopefully we can fire up the grill and spend some time together.  Ceelebrate with the ones you love while you can.

So my garden is off the hook!  lookin awesome!  actually had some rasberries right off the bush yesterday!  yum!

Thursday at the Square with Ingrid Michaelson was fun and packed!  Next week Martin Sexton.  Tonight is Rane party bar with me….we’ll be partying on the patio!

Have a great summer weekend!

Big news with the Danny Briere crash. After looking at these photos, you can see why he and his son are lucky to be alive today.

Here’s the first look at next year’s Smurf movie.

It sounded like a great idea for a movie – until I saw the trailer.

The Smurfs in New York City?! This looks awful. Which of course means it will be a giant hit…

Not such good luck for Charlie Sheen’s Mercedes  Benzes…back in February his 2009 was taken from his Sherman Oaks, CA driveway and “driven” off a cliff on beautiful Mullholland Drive.  Wouldn’t you know his new 2010 S600 (worth about $175,000) was stolen this week and again driven off a cliff into a ravine on the very same Mullholland Drive.  Damage to both between $50,000 and $100,000 and as of yet, in both incidents, no suspects have been found!

A while back, NASA gathered up names and sent them on a microchip in their Lunar Reconnaissance spacecraft.

Now they want to send your picture on a trip into space!

Your face will go up to space on either the Discovery space shuttle in September or the Endeavour space shuttle in November.

Once it returns, you can print up your Flight Certificate – all of this FREE.

So find that perfect picture, upload it to NASA, and get ready to (kind of) visit space.

Sign up and upload your picture at NASA’s Face In Space website.

You must be 13 or older to participate, but parents can send in a picture for anyone under 13. And I couldn’t find the date this will end, but I would imagine it’s soon so rush that picture into them.

WARNING: After your face goes into space, be wary of mysterious lights in the sky at night. Something out there might fall in love and then come here to visit you.
