This week that definitely could be a possibility, especially if you’re walking through one of the many haunted houses here in Buffalo.

Watch what happens when an overseas hidden camera show plays this trick on people.

The concept sounds kind of lame, but they go about it in an absolutely brilliant way.

How perfect was that last night. Political boredom on almost all the networks – except ABC which ran my favorite TV show Pushing Daisies!

That should be what happens anytime something political is on most stations.

And it was yet another great episode. The recurring storylines are awesome, but even better is the fact that storylines actually get resolved within a few episodes (unlike Lost, which is still good, but soooo slow-moving).

But where’s Lily and Vivian?! They’ve been missing for 3 episodes and that’s too long without such great characters! Hopefully, they’ll be back soon.

Something else I’m looking forward to is an upcoming episode that’ll be a crossover with the failed but brilliant TV series Wonderfalls (Lee Pace was the brother on that show). According to Bryan Fuller, the creator of both shows, that’ll be the eighth episode this season (“Comfort Food”).

Anyways, if you missed last night’s episode, go see it here.

And so ends the 7th season of Dancing With The Stars.

The season itself might not be officially over, but the fun part definitely is.

After being booted from the show, Cloris appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s show. After about three minutes of dealing with the chair that was too high for her, she sat on the floor for the rest of the interview. Hysterical!!

There’s nothing like a HIGH DEFINITION/National TV (ESPNU) UB Bulls Win last night over The Ohio Bobcats! #19 James Starks with a season high 185 yards on the ground, and once again Coach Turner Gill’s Team is ROCKIN‘…I don’t get out much, but my mom is from a town in Ohio near Athens, and when I visited there I was impressed at how it is a real typical college town.

GO BULLS!

Pushing Daisies, my favorite TV show right now, is in danger of being cancelled according to a recent Yahoo article!

This never would have been a problem if that Writers Strike didn’t happen. The show was doing great last year. But even with the strike, ABC should have brought it back in the spring, instead of waiting almost a year. That definitely messed things up for the show.

The Yahoo article mentions how the ratings are falling each week. While that is true, the ratings in certain demos are exactly what ABC wants (according to an article at The Futon Critic). So there is hope, depending on which article you read I guess.

Regardless of which article is right, please watch Pushing Daisies (especially if you’re a Nielsen family). It’s on Wednesday nights at 8pm on ABC.

The Yahoo article also mentions two other shows that are in trouble and two that have already been cancelled. See what they are here.

A show not mentioned in the article is the new CBS series The Ex List – that was just cancelled yesterday.

The old NFL adage was certainly true for The Bills
“on any given Sunday…”

Monday night the “highly favored” SABRES ran into

the same problem with The Ottawa Senators losing their first game “in
regulation.” My advice…wager at your own risk!

Iron Island Museum was featured on Ghost Hunters last month and they determined that it’s definitely haunted!

So how’d you like to spend Halloween with those ghosts?!

The Iron Island Museum is holding two different types of tours for Halloween…

OCTOBER 30: Ghost Tours at 6:00pm, 7:30pm & 9:00pm. $10

OCTOBER 31: Halloween Night Investigations with “Is It Real Investigators” (TAPS family members) from 9:00pm – 1:00am. $30

Visit their website for more info and to make reservations (required for any of these events). And visit my audio page to hear Linda talking about the ghost encounters at the museum since the Ghost Hunters epiosde aired.

2008 has already been a crazy year, but things appear to be getting crazier by the minute, both in the radio industry in general, and at Entercom/Buffalo. I am not at liberty to divulge any juicy details at the moment, but I’ll tease you with this: the health department has let us back into our offices again.

If you want more info, you’ll have to ask me about it personally.

In the meantime, here are a few items I talked about on the air:

Mad Men
Every time I think this show (AMC Sundays 10pm) couldn’t get any better, the next episode hits, and I’m left thinking the same thing. Obviously I’m not the first to say that Matt Weiner has woven together a masterpiece of writing and acting. The Emmy’s this year proved that, emphatically. So many troubled characters, steeped in truth and authenticity; I’m sucked into their lives every week, feeling as if I know them all personally, even if I don’t relate to any of them personally. Acting is a big part of that, but I am in awe of Weiner’s writing above all.

CHERRY JUICE
Just one glass of tart cherry juice a day can slow down the aging process and may even save your life, says a new study. Scientists in Britain discovered that the American-grown Montmorency tart cherry, widely available in health stores, offers better protection against heart disease and cancer than more than 20 servings of fruits and vegetables. It also slows the skin’s natural collagen from breaking down, so your complexion looks more youthful longer.
Best of all, one glass of cherry juice a day is all it takes!

Lightbulbs as we know them may become a thing of the past – quicker than you think. There’s a new green technology that is about to hit the market: flexible light-emitting metal that that can bend to fit any surface, generating 100% efficient white light. Obviously you’ve heard by now incandescent bulbs are inefficient, giving off more heat than light, so people are switching to fluorescents – which are more energy efficient, and last a lot longer. The problem is disposing of them, since they’re loaded with mercury, which poisons the environment. The new LEC (light emitting capacitor) lights are actually thin, flexible sheets of lightweight metal that bend and flex like fabric – and emit a pure white light, with no heat, and no gas or chemicals.

Amazing!

See more Ron Howard videos at Funny or Die

Honestly, there have been a lot of (quite stupid) celebrity endorsements of both candidates this election season. This one, however, took me by surprise. Did you ever expect to see Ron Howard, (aging) Oscar winning director and producer, reprise his role as Opie on the Andy Griffith Show?

Me either. Enjoy.

Star’s Mike McQueen sent me an e-mail with an absolutely hysterical picture that I had to share with you.

This would definitely be a ratings blockbuster! :)

I’m forever on the search for great new music. I always list my finds to the right under “New Songs on my iPod” (below the blog archive).

I usually only find a couple at a time. But for some reason, there’s suddenly a whole herd of incredible new songs out there.

I love a song from The Midway State called “Never Again“, but it’s not available in the US yet. I guess I’ll have to get the CD the next time I go up to Canada.

And Paul McCartney has a new song with a group called The Fireman. It’s “Sing The Changes“. I’m not sure why, but it reminds me a bit of his 80’s song “Press“, which is one of my all time favorites by him.

Then there’s a ton of new pop music in Sweden. Here’s one I had to share with you. I was watching the video for it and thinking, this is different, it’s a song about an insane woman. Then one of the last lyrics changes everything and it’s not so crazy anymore.

It’s “Anna” by a group called Hello Saferide. Check it out…

I hate to say age or dress size (especially on the air) but I don’t think Tom Petty would mind being acknowledged turning 58 on Monday (10/20). Tom went into The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2002 by way of The Traveling Wilburys…George Harrison (Nelson), Jeff Lynn (Otis),
Roy Orbison (Lefty), Bob Dylan (Lucky), and TOM (Charlie T.) WILBURY.

I had the pleasure, back in the 80’s, of attending two of Tom’s Concerts (on consecutive nights) in Providence and Boston (going backstage for both). After seeing Tom at the 2nd show in Boston backstage I remember him telling me “OH, IT’S YOU AGAIN”…I still to this day didn’t know how to take the comment.
